Standing in your crib

We just put you down for your afternoon nap and after your usual 15 minutes of playing, laughing, and crying I went in to check on you, and I found you standing up in your crib, jumping like the monkeys on the bed. Your smile was classic. You had no idea how to sit down and daddy and I just looked at eachother and laughed. It was adorable. I'm glad I lowered your crib last week.

Fall is in the air...

I was working out tonight and watching the trees outside the window rustle in the gailing wind. The leaves are just beginning to turn and you can feel the summer air fading into the fall. I keep thinking about this summer and how it was the richest summer of my life because of you. It was a summer of firsts for both of us, and I get sentimental just thinking about how fast this year has gone. We went to the park today and you giggled on the swings like you always do, and I held your little hands as you walked across the park in your barefeet. It was precious. You have become masterful at rolling over and while you don't crawl in the traditional sense, you find a way to get wherever you'd like to get. I feel inadequate when describing how lucky I feel to be your mom. I know it's cliche but I truly feel when you become a parent, you wear your heart on the outside of your body.

You're crawling, well sort of..

Dear Max,
You are 9 months old. I can't believe that 9 months ago you were just a distant idea in our heads. My weight is back, although, my body may never be quite the same. Regardless, you are worth the love handles. Your favorite word right now is da-da and you say mama too, but dada seems to be your word of choice. You do the army crawl and enjoy pulling yourself up on me or your toys. The swings are a major favorite of yours and a little boy befriended you at the park today. Everyone tells me that you are the happiest baby they have ever seen and I obviously agree. You have a little cough right now, but we're seeing the doctor anyway for your 9 month check-up so no worries.
Love you,
Mom
